THE ARTWORK
The inaugural medallion in the PEACE ONE EARTH collection depicts a dove alighting upon the earth's twin hemisphere. A single drop of blood falls from the dove's heart symbolizing the "last drop" of blood to be shed for peace. The words Education, Equality, Ecology, Economy and Equity surround the central image and represent the "Five Es" - the essential elements for a peaceful, positive and productive society.
The back of the medallion is engravable to acknowledge or commemorate those who served the cause of peace -- a loved one away from home serving in the current conflict; a loved one and veteran from any past war; a veteran lost in service; a memorial to a friend or family member who perished in the September 11 tragedy.
The medallion is suspended from a 22 inch red cord. The red cord represents bravery, the length of the cord positions the medallion over the heart of the wearer. The name of your loved one will always be safe and close, next to your heart. The lapel pin is worn on the left lapel of a blazer, next to the wearer's heart.
